10 days since I sent my device for their so called “inspection” there’s 0 communication whatsoever, several emails with no response, tried to call them 2 days in a row, requested call back-nothing. Finally got through today and was promised to get tracking number-nothing. Looks like it’s a scam company and I should treat it as a theft?
My iPhone screen stopped responding properly, so I contacted tinhat. I did find communication from them quite unclear - they didn’t explain what the steps in the process were, they just asked me to remove my Apple ID and apparently couldn’t do anything until I’d done that. A simple summary of what happens next would have been very reassuring.That said, I posted my phone on Thursday afternoon, and had it back with me, fixed, by Saturday morning. I was very impressed by the speed and it seems to be working perfectly.
Guys pls avoid them when it comes to insuring your gadgets. They are the biggest scammers, All they know is how to rip people of their hard earned money.I'm talking from experience, they are working together with Davies group which is their claim administrators.I was attacked on the 14th of December 2023 at knife point and my gadgets were all taking away. I contacted the police repaort this and was given a crime reference number, while investigation was ongoing, i was advised to reach out to my insurer and network provider so as to enable them to blacklist the phone / barred the sim. I contacted their claim team and since then its been a nightmare . From requesting for proof of usage, proof of ID, proof of address, immobilise loss report which I spend about £6 to report my loss and generate a certificate, proof of purchase. I sent all these documents and they all have on display the gadget details and IMEI Numbers which they acknowledged and promised process the claim. Since then nothing has be done, and they have been sending me back and forth and this has caused me a very big damage mentally for not getting the services I'm paying for. With all these going on, they are still taking direct debits as when due.
At first my claim was rejected, and I had a lot of trouble getting hold of the right people to sort out my claim. However, when I spoke to Avtar Singh, he was helpful, proactive and he listened and responded brilliantly to my problem. My claim is now going forward quickly, due to his fantastic input. I am so grateful to him and to TinHat for solving my insurance needs. I will continue to use TinHat (I’ve been with them for 8 years).
