This is the 3rd year in a row that we've booked Prime VR for our KS2 children and they have loved it every time. It's such an engaging and immersive way to bring topics to life. This time we went for the 'Space' experience and the children are now all buzzing to learn more in science.
We have enjoyed workshops with Prime VR for the last two years now. Last week's session on the North and South Poles really brought our topic to life for the year 6s. They were enthralled by the whole experience and the leader, Stuart, had excellent subject knowledge so he was able to build upon what the children had already learnt. This experience will provide an excellent basis for some creative writing we have coming up, which without seeing the polar regions through VR, the children would have found challenging.
Thank you to VR Prime for another amazing experience for our Year 5 pupils - we travelled to the Maya ancient world through the power of VR. Teachers could visibly see the excitement and amazement when each new destination was visited. A great way to either launch our topic or to add another element to pupils' learning. Pupil Feedback: "I thought it was very real, crystal clear, exciting and inspiring." "It was a really good way to experience how the Mayans used to live - exploring their temples." "It was as if our topic came to life - it felt like we were there!"
Today was the first time we've had the VR experience in our school. The children absolutely loved it! There was lots of vocal appreciation from all involved and lots of happy, excited faces. The teachers enjoyed the experience and there were no technical issues. Everything ran smoothly. Oliver from PrimeVR was great with the children and explained why we didn't have all the experiences we'd selected. Made complete sense, but would have been useful to have known this beforehand. Did not spoil the enjoyment, though. Great day!
This was such an exciting opportunity for our school. The whole process, from initial booking was brilliant. Both the children and staff gave it rave reviews and we have booked for next year!
